Curiosity

Yesterday afternoon, Ki and I were playing on the floor in the living room.  Since he likes.to go in the kitchen, I will sometimes close the door to simplify our playing time.
This is what Ki sees when the door is closed (well he is actually further down, but you get the idea.):

On this day, however, he figured out that what he really wanted was in the kitchen.  Now, he is very clever and he has now figured out that there is another way into the kitchen, via the front hallway.  So I followed him and this is what he went straight to; not once, not twice, but three times.

Suddenly, I had an idea!...and he loved it, too.  

This goes against the grain for me, but he spent almost an hour happily playing in that water while I got some work done.
